… Do you feel sometimes there is nobody who can see your value and you start wondering if you have any?

… Do you feel you work too hard and still…. still feel you need to work even harder?

… Is your boss telling you your work is not up to the standard and you know you've done your best?

… Did your client let you down and now you feel that your business is failing?

… Is your partner being distant and you think you are not loved?

… Do you feel you are not a good parent, friend or a person just because you can't spend enough time with your loved ones?

If anything from what I just said resonates with you and even if you just need to brighten up your day, then this is a perfect place to be…

Today I'm going to share with you about the importance of taking time to indulge yourself in Self-Appreciation as it is not a luxury, but pure necessity if you want to connect to your inner positive calm and move on in life with renewed energy, strength and confidence.

We all are human beings and from time to time we are faced with either from within ourselves or outside…. with criticisms, problems, difficulties or setbacks. Very often especially when we were small there have been situations, when we were not good enough or didn’t get enough love and appreciation from others, friends or family. So we tried to be better in some ways or others to achieve more and still didn’t get enough recognition that we were waiting for.

It's in our nature to be loved and accepted for who we are and especially to be appreciated.

When we grow up this feeling can re-surface so we feel undervalued or unappreciated. We feel down, we try so hard and we work harder, hide behind 'being busy', and still don't feel enough appreciation for what we are.

Well, let me tell you something….

… Appreciation starts from within, it is a reflection of how you feel about yourself and then mirrored from outside, through other people back to you… also when you might think others don't see the value in you, it is not always the truth. The more you are able appreciate yourself, the more you will be able to appreciate others and in return you will see more people starting to appreciate you back.

It is good to be an achiever and thrive for success in life, however if you never take time to sit still and recollect, then recognize all those amazing achievements you have however big or small, you will have a feeling of never arriving and lose contentment with yourself, my friend.

…The life will pass by and the celebration of it will pass too. Life is not a destination; it is a journey. Even when you die you'll still receive letters in the post… and there are great reasons to stop and look at ALL the amazing achievements and successes you‘ve had so far.

Let's look at the 7 Top Reasons for Self-Appreciation:

… When you appreciate yourself:

#1 You will feel wealthy and more wealth will come to you.

#2 You will gain the confidence and so be able to complete your work much more effectively.

#3 You will start to serve your body better through a healthy lifestyle.

#4 You will look forward to meeting your friends, socialize more and have more fun.

#5 You will find the ways to spend quality time with both your friends and family.

#6 You will be able to let go of things from your To-Do list and feel relieved. Not everything on that list will be urgent and even if it is – you will find the ways to delegate.

#7 You will be able to appreciate others more and so increase your compassion and connect to inner peace.

… Well, to really benefit from self-appreciation you now have to make time and set an appointment WITH YOU. Simply get a blank piece of paper and list all your achievements and successes you can think of to date. When you write them down remember the feeling you had when you achieved. How did it feel? Did you feel the thrill and happiness? List everything you can think of, in all areas of your life such as health, family, business, work, relationships…Take your time, you don't need to rush- just focus on all the things you’ve done and feel good about.

It’s always good to do this from time to time as when we rush through our lives we simply forget to see what we have actually accomplished and should feel content with. Today our days can be so full of commitments, overwhelming and still we take on more and more. We forget to give up or let go of those commitments which are not making us happy and giving joy.

Sit back; INDULGE in Self-Appreciation say to yourself:

“I accept myself as good enough always and I appreciate myself in any situation.”

… Simply remember how good it feels when you appreciate yourself. If this is hard for you just start focusing on your past successes and those feelings you had at the time… this will help you to increase your emotional positive state of contentment and happiness.

Let’s take some time to celebrate our lives so far, the benefits are too great to be missed, it starts from within then radiates and expands outwards. You can connect with your inner peace and feel contentment with yourself right now.

I do understand that when life and other people knock us down that it does hurt athough we’ve worked on our self-esteem and know our true worth. It is a constant challenge to appreciate ourselves. But, the secret is to appreciate ourselves as you say.. Great post with wonderful suggestions.

I think this came at the right time because i just broke from a relationship i tried everything to make it work. I had these feelings of worthlessness, irrelevance, lack of what it takes to make a relationship work, and i’ve been feeling so terrible about myself, but now i can appreciate myself better.
