Boost Your Self-Confidence and Connect to Inner Peace (Part IV)

How to Boost Your Self-Confidence by Increasing Physical Energy of the Body.

"Life has its own hidden forces which you can only discover by living."

Soren Kierkegaars

This is Part IV following the Part III from the series “Boost Your Self-Confidence”.

Today I'll show you some easy, natural and practical ways on how to build up the 'life force' for your body so that you can become confident, personally magnetic, charismatic, influential and strong…

Why would you need to develop your physical strength for self-confidence?

Have you noticed that some people who are intelligent can be confident, however there is something missing when you are in their presence? Have you seen teachers, lawyers, preachers who are boring, lack life, don't influence and at the same time people with not a lot of intelligence make incredible influence and you can feel their vitality, health and strength? It is not only mental training alone will make you confident, developing physical vitality and strength is important. The balance between mental and physical power is the secret key.

…Let’s look at the lives of plants, animals and humans. It seems that the 'life force' is breathed into the system. I call it 'life force' however there are many other words to describe it such as life energy, vital energy, vital magnetism, prana… Not every person can see it, but it does exist. It is like electricity and although exists you cannot see it. This is important to know as it can change your life and the way you look at physical exercise forever.

It seems so simple yet it is the most important thing to know, that breathing is not only about extracting oxygen or other elements from the air, but also that of the universal 'life force' at the same time. When you know this, it will be much easier for you to see why living things perish so soon if the process of breathing is being interfered with.

…This secret of nature gives you now the understanding of the importance of breathing in the life of all living creatures.

There is a special way of breathing if you want to gain more 'life force' and strength. Once you know it, you can use it any time, when you need a boost as an elixir… This is how people who know this secret can keep calm under any circumstance and how you can be self-confident any time you like.

Every time after you experience extreme mental, emotional or physical strain – nature gives you recuperating breath rhythm, which is usually a long drawn out sigh, followed by a moment of rest, which in turn is followed by and easy, though deep, slow, deliberate succession of in and out breaths, in perfect rhythm. This is the way of nature giving you much needed life and so you feel instant relief, your body fills with vitality and strength. Everyone has their own way of the natural recuperation breath, so to learn your own you can watch yourself how you breathe just after the strain you experience, so you can practise the exact perfect rhythm given to you by nature.

In practising this recuperative breathing for the purpose of resting, gaining strength or increasing life energy don’t make the error of counting your breaths as it will not be your own natural rhythm….Give yourself time to learn it, practise it and allow nature teach you, so you can give yourself up entirely to peace and the calm feeling of relief.

Let's move to the next lesson of nature!

What do we find nature doing just after the person is exhausted by mental, emotional or physical exertion – that is, in addition to the peculiar breath-rhythm?…Well we find, accompanying the long deep sigh preceding the breath-rhythm, and also, following the rhythmic breathing, a tendency to "stretch" the muscles of the body. Not only do we notice this phenomenon at such times, but also it is to be observed when we awaken in the morning with a yawn, followed by an instinctive stretching of the muscles.

We observe the same thing after we have used up 'life force' in listening, reading, studying, etc. – in fact, in any action, which has required concentrated attention. It is always the yawn, the deep sigh, the measured breath, and, finally, the stretching of the muscles. It is how nature recognizes that we need fresh supply of life energy. This is how nature distributes the 'life force' throughout all your body.

In stretching there are two motions, one is extending and the other one is contracting or tensing the muscles. By tensing the opposing muscles we squeeze out the old, stale weakened energy so that it can be replaced by the new, fresh, vital and strong 'life force'. Imagine yourself that you are like a sponge, squeezing out the old dirty water and then absorbing the clean and fresh as much as you can.

These are the general principles of exercises: Stretching, Twisting and Bending.

  • Stretching

1. Lying on your back, extend your arms upward over your head, to their full extent – stretch them out easily but thoroughly as far as they will go. Then slowly pull them in. Repeat several times.

2. Stretch the arms sideways from the body – out and then in, several times.

3. Stretch the legs in the same way, several times.

4. Stretch the neck several times.

5. Stretch the hand and fingers, by moving the hands backward and forward from the wrist, clenching and unclenching the fist: opening and closing the fingers.

6. Stretch the feet and toes, in the same general manner as in the case of the hands and fingers.

7. Turn over and lie on your stomach, with the face down on the pillow or floor, and repeat the above exercise in this position. This will bring into play a number of muscles not employed in the former position.

8. Rise to your feet and stand with the legs spread out, the feet several feet apart, with arms extended upward and outward. This will bring your body into the general shape of the letter "X." Then rise to your toes and stretch upward as if you were trying to touch the ceiling.

Repeat several times

  • Twisting

Not only may the legs and arms be twisted easily and effectively, but the entire torso of the body may be equally effectively twisted by standing erect with feet, say eight or ten inches apart, toes out, and arms hanging easily by the sides; then easily twisting the body to the right, the neck, torso and thighs being carried as far as they will go; then twisting to the left in the same manner; repeating several times.

  • Bending

Bending the body to the right, then to the left, then forward, then backward, is a good energizer.

…You can pick and chose different exercises, in this short article I'm only giving you examples. The way you do them matters most. They should be done together with your perfect rhythm breathing, so you can absorb, and distribute and preserve as much life force as you can. This should be done slowly and may appear lazy. Also I'm not saying how many times, it is all according to the individual, listen to your body by using awareness. I personally love to practise yoga as it fits well. However it is not necessary for you to do the same, you can find what suits you best or 'whatever floats your boat' 😉

Being confident is a natural state of being; we sometimes forget what our natural state is. However we can learn, improve and become much stronger than an ordinary person can be. Knowledge is power and who is seeking finds the way. Don’t rush and be patient with yourself, watch yourself closely and you will succeed. You will feel how strong, vital, healthy and confident you become every time you practise. Only practice makes perfect, I can give you direction, but you'll have to find your own unique way… You will not only boost your self-confidence, charisma and personal magnetism – all your body will be full of life and vitality. It is all about molding and using the pure positive life energy of God, Source or Universe. I wish you good luck to find the way, it may be hard at first, but it will become natural to you after practising.
